Our Director Andy’s main responsibility was to composite the underwater to the first deck. This involved a camera takeover from the underwater main plate to a fully projection based underwater environment to the broken hull and then into the first deck. He worked on this from concept through to final comp. We played with the size of the boat’s hull to really sell the scale of the scene, and once that was decided it was fully textured and animated. The rest of the environment is all based from plates that were shot and elements layered up in space. It was key to continue the momentum from the master plate we worked from and link the pace of the story into the next scene.
